Grainger Engineering honors six exceptional alumni leaders for their distinguished service

The Grainger College of Engineering is a formidable force with award-winning graduates turning heads and changing the world. 

For more than half a century, The Grainger College of Engineering Alumni Award for Distinguished Service has recognized exceptional alumni and celebrated their leadership, creativity, entrepreneurship, contributions to the field of engineering, and service to our greater society. The college honors these highly successful and motivated alumni each spring.

“Grainger Engineering faculty, students and alumni consistently aim high and boldly pursue a better tomorrow. The individuals who comprise this network are a tremendous part of Grainger Engineering’s ability to set a global standard for engineering education, research and public engagement,” said Rashid Bashir, dean of The Grainger College of Engineering. 

The 2026 recipients of the Distinguished Service Award are leaders in higher education, semiconductor technology, international engagement, military and civilian advocacy, creating a digital-first lens for businesses, and entrepreneurship.

The Grainger College of Engineering alumni body is comprised of approximately 118-thousand living alumni, residing in 136 countries. Worldwide, Grainger Engineering alumni serve as innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, educators and industry leaders.
