Grainger CARES

Grainger CARES

At The Grainger College of Engineering, we are committed to nurturing an inclusive and respectful environment aligned with our college values where our differences are celebrated, perspectives heard and every individual feels a sense of belonging.

Grainger CARES is an ecosystem with multiple pathways to resources within The Grainger College of Engineering that provide students, faculty and staff a safe and confidential place to report inappropriate or concerning behavior, navigate the help-seeking process at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and connect with relevant college and campus resources. Grainger CARES works collaboratively with college departments/units and university partners, including Student Affairs, to provide consultation, coordinate support and foster a greater community of care.

  • Equality, Inclusion and Access Grievances
  • Faculty/Instructor Disputes and Concerns
  • Safety and Well-being Concerns

Please note that this is not a comprehensive list.

Share a Concern

For mental health emergencies, call 911 or the Counseling Center at (217) 333-3704.
For all other emergencies, call 911 or the Division of Public Safety at (217) 333-1216.

There are two ways for individuals to share a concern – through the college’s Grainger CARES program or a department’s CARES program. One option is not better than the other; it is at the discretion of the individual to choose the path they feel most comfortable with. Both ways allow individuals to share concerns confidentiality or anonymously. Grainger Engineering undergraduate students are encouraged to contact their department's Associate Head for Undergraduate Programs or the Grainger Engineering Advising Office.
