Ulku Rowe is a technology executive, cultural entrepreneur and advocate for gender equality.
She currently serves as CIO for commercial banking at Lloyds Banking Group, leading technology strategy and execution across the group's commercial businesses, with a focus on digital platforms, modernized core systems, data and AI adoption at scale.
Prior to her current role, Rowe was part of the senior leadership team that launched and scaled Google's cloud business. Earlier in her career, she held technology leadership roles at J.P. Morgan Chase, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and UBS. Throughout her career, Rowe has leveraged technical innovation to drive large-scale transformation across complex organizations.
Rowe is a leader in advancing gender equality, challenging systemic inequities, sponsoring senior women and speaking publicly on inclusion in technology and financial services.
Beyond her corporate career, Rowe is deeply engaged in the arts and philanthropy. She is the founder of the Turkish American Orchestra, a symphony orchestra dedicated to artistic excellence, emerging talent and cross-cultural dialogue.
She serves on The Grainger College of Engineering Board of Visitors, the Turkish Philanthropy Funds Board and the University of Illinois Chicago College of Engineering Advisory Board. Her past board and advisory roles include the Fulbright Association, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York's Fintech Advisory Group and CapitalG's Board of Advisors.
