IIT Bombay Partnership

The future of global engineering education starts here: a landmark partnership between Illinois Grainger Engineering and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, built to transform how the next generation collaborates and innovates.

Innovation and entrepreneurship is at the heart of this partnership, and both institutions have proven themselves to be giants in that space. Grainger Engineering, home of the Landuyt Center for Entrepreneurship, is a top-5 public U.S. institution for entrepreneurs as evaluated by Pitchbook. IIT Bombay, home of the Desai Sethi School of Entrepreneurship, is #19 on that list and #5 among international institutions.

Through intensive, multi-year cohorts, students from both universities will work side by side — combining perspectives shaped by different approaches to problem-solving. Participants will earn undergraduate degrees from their home institutions, plus a Joint Credential Certificate for completing the partnership program. Beyond these formal qualifications, graduates will emerge with something far more valuable: the ability to think globally, collaborate across cultures and tackle humanity’s toughest challenges with perspectives that span across continents.
