Q What did you learn as a woman in engineering that has helped you in and out of your professional role?

I learned that it’s okay to go against the grain and think differently than others. This often leads to better solutions overall.

Q Do you think the landscape of women in STEM fields has changed? How so? Where do you see it going in the future?

Yes, I do think the landscape of women in Stem has changed because we are more willing to discuss issues surrounding women in the field. This open discussion will only lead to further improvements.

Q Who inspires you as a woman in engineering?

Many people inspired me from female professors to professionals. I was inspired by their fight to keep fighting to make STEM even more accessible to the next generation of women engineers.

Q What advice do you have for women in who are starting their journey in engineering?

Take advantage of every opportunity you have while at school. You never know who you will meet and where it could lead you.
