Illinois ranked 19th nationally in the latest Nature Index

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is ranked 37^th among universities worldwide and 19^th among U.S. universities in the most recent Nature Index, based on counts of high-quality research outputs from September 1, 2016-August 31, 2017. 

Nature Index is a database of author affiliation information collated from research articles published in an independently selected group of 68 high-quality science journals. The database is compiled by Nature Research. The Nature Index provides a close to real-time proxy for high-quality research output at the institutional, national and regional level.
