Student Start-up Madness is a collegiate tournament focused on digital media startups. It gives these teams a chance to compete against fellow student entrepreneurs, grab the attention of potential investors and supporters, and build an elite professional network.

Three teams from Engineering at Illinois are among the 64 that were selected for the 2015-16 Student Startup Madness (SSM) Tournament, a collegiate tournament focused on digital media startups. It gives these teams a chance to compete against fellow student entrepreneurs, grab the attention of potential investors and supporters, and build an elite professional network.
The first two rounds will be held online culminating with the final eight teams pitching to a panel of well-known investors and entrepreneurs at South By Southwest (SXSW) Interactive in Austin, Texas on March 14.

The team is working on a platform that allows the users to simply follow the topics online and get regular updates on them, similar to liking a page on Facebook and then getting the updates on your news feed. Users can follow any topic and be notified of materials like promotional videos, rumor articles, live scores, actor statements, basically all news on any topic right in one place.

We want to create something that will be meaningful and useful to all. They want to solve a problem with a solution that will allow people to truly connect with the people who matter most. The Mouve is creating a platform and culture that is about connecting people with people and embracing the world around them.
