A reception in the Beckman lobby will follow the lecture, which is free and open to the public.

Mark Templeton
A popular and provocative speaker, Templeton leads the Citrix vision for a world where people, IT, and businesses can experience work and life in harmony. He is responsible for the company’s market direction, product strategy, and passion for customer care. In addition, he guides the unique Citrix culture by emphasizing values of respect, integrity, innovation, and fun.
Templeton joined Citrix in 1995 as vice president of marketing, prior to the company’s initial public offering. He was appointed president in 1998 and chief executive officer in 2001. Under his leadership, Citrix has been transformed from a $15 million organization with one product, one customer segment, and one go-to-market path, to a global powerhouse with annual revenues of $2.59 billion in 2012. Today, Citrix solutions and products enable mobile work styles for millions of people every day. Citrix services more than 260,000 organizations with over 10,000 business partners in 100 countries.
Templeton holds a bachelor’s degree in product design from North Carolina State University and an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. He has received numerous leadership awards, including the AeA Abacus Award for Outstanding High-Tech Executive, “Businessperson of the Year” (EVIE Award), and the Excalibur Award. He is also included on Glassdoor’s 2013 list of “50 Highest Rated CEOs,” and he currently serves on the Equifax board of directors.
In June 2012, Citrix acquired Bytemobile, a leading provider of data and video optimization solutions for mobile network operators. Bytemobile’s core technology is rooted in the multithreading computer architectures and wireless network performance optimization research of Constantine Polychronopoulos, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Illinois. Bytemobile has operated a research and development facility in the University of Illinois Research Park since 2006, which continues to grow its presence as Citrix ByteMobile. ____________________________
