The past, present, and future of Engineering at Illinois "converged" on Monday, March 21, at Maggiano's in Schaumburg for the third annual "Engineering Convergence-Chicago."

The annual event, held over Spring Break exclusively for Chicago area alumni and students, provides an informal setting for professional and personal networking. This year invitations were also extended to the class of 2015 admits in the Chicago area.

A good crowd--more than 120 attendees--included engineering alumni from wide-ranging professions and almost every department, current students, plus newly admitted students and their parents.

Engineering Student Alumni Ambassadors facilitated the program and the discussions that included topics such as "What do you look for when you hire someone?"  "How do you balance work and life?" "How do I take advantage of the Engineering at Illinois alumni network around the globe?" "What do I need to be doing in college to best prepare myself for the real world?"

Engineering Convergence-Chicago is sponsored by the Office of Advancement in the College of Engineering.

Additional event photos are posted online.
