In addition to serving as director of MSFE, a new joint program of the
Department of Industrial and Enterprise Systems Engineering in the College of Engineering and the Department of Finance in the College of Business at Illinois, Lane is president of registered broker-dealer Lane Financial LLC.

His significant convergence experience, combined with his contribution to the insurance-linked capital markets sector after the 2008 market collapse, made him a frontrunner for the award.

"It's great when you can have fun with your adventures, and the convergence market has been my adventure," Lane said.

The MSFE program’s inaugural fall class is full. Questions about the program or application process can be sent to msfe@illinois.edu.

An article on the “Trading Risk” award can be found on the MSFE website.
