Chase Field's humidor didn't suppress home runs as much as it should have

SB Nation (Nov. 6) -- Last April, Alan Nathan, a professor emeritus of physics at Illinois, predicted that the new humidor at Chase Field in Phoenix, home of the Arizona Diamondbacks, would suppress home run production between 25-50 percent, assuming the balls are kept at the suggested 50 percent humidity and 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Looking at the year-to-year change, this bears out.
