Robots could help shape the future of farming in Illinois

WQAD-TV (July 5) -- Robots developed by U. of I. researchers are helping Midwest farmers in the fields. U. of I. agricultural and biological engineering professor Girish Chowdhary designed small robots that work beneath the crop canopy that can do research and spot trouble. “It will help them find diseases and pests and other issues before they could be spotted from the air,” Chowdhary says.
