Grainger Engineering has allowed me to meet some of my closest friends here on campus. Not only through classes in which we help each other succeed, but also in some of the RSOs that I am involved in such as SWE. SWE has allowed me to build a community with all the opportunities that they offered me to be a part of as a freshman and throughout my college career. I was able to bond with other women of all years and majors as well as have amazing social and professional experiences. With all of that being said, I always enjoy getting boba at Teamoji with all the amazing people that have impacted my life here on campus.
Some advice that I have for incoming students to help them make the most of their experiences ere as a Grainger Engineer is to push yourself outside of your comfort zone. Especially today with all of the challenges the world is facing, it can be harder to want to go out of your way try new things, but that is what college is for and is why we grow so much and learn new things about ourselves during this period in our life. It is easy to become overwhelmed with schoolwork, as it is a top priority, but building a healthy network to surround yourself with is equally as important. It is okay to take a step back from the homework and studying and not get too caught up in what others are doing and comparing yourself to them. Taking the time to reflect on how you're doing and the growth that you are making during these years is the best way to see all of the progress you are making.
