  • BS, Electrical Engineering, 1949
  • MS, Electrical Engineering, 1950

Mr. Campbell joined TRW in 1954 and within five years was named vice president and general manager of TRW Semiconductors. He advanced through many positions with the company and was appointed to his present one of executive vice president of TRW, Inc., and general manager of TRW Electronics in 1979. In this capacity Mr. Campbell is responsible for managing TRW Electronics which employs over 17,000 people with manufacturing facilities in seven countries and marketing services in forty countries. Although his contributions to engineering have included work as a development engineer (four patents have been issued for his work from 1950-60), his principal contribution has been in providing a corporate environment which recognizes that an understanding of engineering is as important in building marketing and service capabilities as it is in the manufacturing function of a high-technology company such as TRW.

Mr. Campbell is a member of many honor societies including Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi, and he received Bronze Tablet honors upon graduation from Illinois. He is director of several firms, a member of the board of directors of WEMA, a manufacturers association, and a member of Kiwanis.
