Megan Harrison

Megan Harrison is a senior in Physics with minors in Mathematics and Spanish.
She is currently the President of the Illinois Alpha Chapter of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor
Society, as well as in her seventh semester as K-12 Outreach Coordinator after co-founding the
chapter’s K-12 Outreach program her freshman year. In past years she has also served as the
Executive Vice President and Graduate Student Services Chair for the organization, helping with
new member recruitment and organizing events ranging from professional workshops and guest
speakers to trivia nights.
Megan has also spent two years as an Engineering Learning Assistant (ELA) for the Engineering
100 freshman orientation course. This year she was one of two Head ELAs, helping contribute to
curriculum development for the course. She has also conducted research on supermassive black
holes in the Decker French Astronomy group and has been a peer mentor in the Physics
department.
After graduation Megan plans to pursue a career in higher education with a focus on
undergraduate engineering education.
