Course Description
The trade-offs and constraints that public agencies face when they provide or regulate transportation, as well as how individuals’ choices explain collective phenomena, such as rush-hours are covered in this course. Abstract models, optimization problems and real-life case studies. Students will learn to use concepts and vocabulary from transportation economics to see the logic underlying real transportation systems and to communicate ways to improve those systems.

Prerequisites
Prerequisite: CEE 310 or permission of instructor. Students who have taken other courses with substantial economics material related to urban systems, such as ECON 413 or UP 509.
