After graduating as a Bronze Tablet student, Mr. Menken first joined the Quaker Oats Company as a design engineer. Later he spent some time as a post engineer with the U.S. Air Force and engineering manager with Sears, Roebuck, and Company before joining the Wehr Steel Company as plant manager in 1965. In 1966, he became associated with the Olin Corporation, progressing from manufacturing manager to vice president, administration of the Winchester Group. While with the Winchester Western Limited, Canada, he started a new worldwide venture in commercial cloud seeding. He has been a source of managerial personnel selected for promotions to key management and engineering positions. He has played a key role in achieving a turnaround in profit and marketing for his company and in managing the business into satisfactory disinvestment through the application of modern management techniques.
