Robert K. Campbell

After earning his master's degree at Illinois, Dr. Campbell joined Western Electric Company as a development engineer and acquired patents on electrical assemblies and devices for joining grooves. He then earned a master's of business administration in 1958 from the University of Chicago and a juris doctor from Loyola University in 1962. He returned to Western Electric and became assistant manager at its New York headquarters. He held many administrative positions before being named general manager of administration for Western Electric Manufacturing Division in 1976. In 1977, he was named president and director of the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company.
Dr. Campbell has successfully combined the practice of business administration and the legal profession with engineering to enable him to competently command positions at the top of engineering-intensive industries. He is a registered professional engineer, a member of the Illinois Bar Association, and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Dr. Campbell is extremely active in civic and charitable organizations including the United Way, Boy Scouts of America, and hospital and college boards.
