Raymond F. Beuligmann joined the Division of General Dynamics in Pomona, California to work on the development of the launch order computer and bufferless resolver chains for the Mauler weapons system in 1961. He rose to section head of Control Systems Dynamics, supervising the functional design and analysis of an adaptive autopilot for standard missile and various other control systems.
