Darren Guccione is one of the most prominent cyber-security experts in the world. As a 1991 graduate from the Department of Industrial and Systems Enterprise Engineering at Illinois, he has gone on to  be a successful entrepreneur and consumer safety advocate.

Guccione is the creator of Keeper, the first and only password management application to be preloaded with mobile operators and device manufacturers. Numerous organizations use his software, including AT&T, Orange, America Movil and HTC. Keeper protects more than 10 million consumers and over 3,000 organizations worldwide. Currently, he leads product vision, global strategy, customer experience, and business development within his organization.

Prior to Keeper, Guccione served as an advisor to JiWire, now called NinthDecimal. NinthDecimal is the leading media and technology service provider for the Wi-Fi industry. He was also the former Chief Financial Officer and principle shareholder of Apollo Solutions, Inc., which was acquired by CNET Networks.

He is featured as a cyber-security expert in major media outlets, such as the CBS Evening News, Fox & Friends, USA Today, ABC, and Mashable. In 2015, he served as the keynote speaker at Techweek Chicago and most recently was a panelist at the FamilyTech Summit at CES 2017.  In 2014, Keeper won the Chicago Innovation Awards and in 2016, he won the Global Telecoms Business Awards with Orange for Consumer Service Innovation. His newest accomplishment includes being named in the Chicago Top Tech 50 by Crain’s Chicago Business.

Guccione is a community-minded individual and serves on the board for the Chicago Entrepreneurial Center that supports the development of early stage companies. He is also an advisor to TechStars- a Chicago-based technology incubator for innovative startups. Previously, he served on the Committee of Technology Infrastructure under Chicago Mayor Richard Daley.
