Course Description
Geometric and material nonlinearities in steel frames; frame element formulation including geometric stiffness and concentrated plasticity; effects of imperfections on frame behavior and modeling approaches for accurate nonlinear assessment; nonlinear solution strategies for frame analysis; elastic and inelastic frame stability; and assessment and design of frame structures using nonlinear analysis are covered in this course.
