Alice Gao

Alice Gao is a senior in Materials Science and Engineering (MatSE).

Alice is currently the Vice President of Keramos Honors Society. She has been competing on the IllinoiSkating Synchronized Skating team for four years and serves as a coordinator for the Learn-to-Skate program at the Ice Arena.

Last semester, she served as the Lead Engineering Learning Assistant for the MatSE department. She has been actively involved in recruitment for the MatSE department and the college through serving as a tour guide and presenting at prospective student events. She has also been involved in CARE as a tutor or Peer-Led Team Facilitator for the past three years.

Alice worked for three semesters in the Pinshane Huang lab researching 2D materials. Her current senior thesis work in the Cecilia Leal lab focuses on the uptake of lipid nanoparticles for RNA delivery. She plans to continue her research through a Ph.D. in MatSE.
