Ariette Kaberlein

Ariette Kaberlein is a senior studying Aerospace Engineering with a passion for both space exploration and sustainability.
Over the past four years, she has been an active member of the Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity, serving as president during her junior year. In this role, she led the executive board and upheld the fraternity’s core values of professionalism, philanthropy, brotherhood, and diversity. She has also been a member of the Contextual Engineering group, extending her commitment to ethical and sustainable engineering to her research. This team examines how cultural, environmental, and societal factors influence infrastructure needs, ensuring engineering solutions are both responsible and effective.
Beyond the University of Illinois, Ariette is a dedicated advocate for women in engineering. As a 2024 Brooke Owens Fellow, she is part of a program supporting women and gender minorities pursuing a career in aerospace. She is also a member of the Women’s Transportation Seminar. She has gained hands-on experience in both electrification engineering through her internship at Brunswick Corporation and has worked on launch vehicle recovery engineering at SpaceX. After graduation, Ariette aims to advance space exploration by working in the space launch vehicle or spacecraft industry, with a focus on making it more accessible and sustainable.
