Bella Watters

Bella has served as the Director of the Illinois Space Society (ISS) since 2021,
where she has worked to connect space enthusiasts through various technical
projects, educational outreach, and professional development initiatives. She has
also served as ISS’s Assistant Director. Bella has been involved in the Grainger
First Year Experience program as an Engineering Learning Assistant (ELA) and
was the Lead ELA for the Aerospace Engineering department in 2022.
Professionally, Bella has completed a Software Engineering Co-op at Collins
Aerospace, helping to design and test helicopter flight software systems. She has
also interned at SpaceX, working as a Structures Engineer within the Starship
Nosecone and Payload Volume design team.

After graduation, Bella will return to SpaceX full-time to work as a Build Engineer
on the Starship Crew Cabin team, helping to develop the crewed vehicle that will
deliver humans back to the Moon and beyond.
