Course Description

This course covers numerical modeling; multi-phase domain equations; constitutive modeling of soils and rock; continuum and discrete element modeling; upper and lower bound limit analysis methods; and simulation of soil-structure interaction problems and construction activities.

Prerequisites

An undergraduate degree and a course in Soil Mechanics and Behavior (CEE 483). Also recommended: one of one of AE 420, CEE 470, CSE 451, or ME 471.
