Course Description

In this course you will learn behavior of composite materials and their use in engineering structures: behavior and properties of the constituent fibers and matrices, micromechanical predictions of composite properties, anisotropic elasticity, behavior of composite laminae, and classical lamination theory; fracture mechanisms, failure theories; and behavior of composite plates and beams.

Prerequisites

BS degree in engineering or science from an accredited college in the United States or an approved institution of higher learning abroad and a course in Mechs of Aerospace Structures (AE 321), Behavior of Materials (CEE 300), or Engineering Materials (ME 330).
