Mr. Krannert's entire career has been devoted to the paper industry. He started soon after graduation with the Sefton Company and in a short time was made its youngest general manager, in charge of the plant at Anderson, Indiana. He founded the Inland Container Corporation in 1925 and nurtured its development and growth to its present eminent position. He planned and achieved complete integration of the means of production, including the formation of the Georgia Kraft Company that consumes over 700,000 cords of pulpwood per year and employs over 1,300 people.

With his wife, Mr. Krannert has established the Krannert Foundation and the Krannert Charitable Trust and through them has conducted philanthropic activities in the arts and in education. This philanthropy has been truly creative, contributing not only to the fulfillment of needs but also selectively helping areas not highly competitive in the ordinary channels of support.
